Match Madness FAQs
Why is the Board of Directors issuing this matching gift challenge?
Like most non-profit independent schools, the tuition charged by Quad Prep does not cover the full expenses of Quad Prep. Tuition generally covers around 91% of Quad Prep’s expenses. We rely on donations as a critical part of our budget so that we can live out our mission. We are so grateful for the support of our Quad Prep community! We can’t do it without you!
Who can participate in Match Madness?
Match Madness is a matching gift challenge for our whole community! Current families, alumni, former parents, grandparents, relatives, current and former staff, and friends of Quad Prep are invited to participate. Every gift counts and helps our students receive an outstanding 2e education.
How much money do we need to raise this year to support Quad Prep's mission?
$2.14 million! This represents the cost of approximately one month of operating expenses.
How will my contribution be used?
Contributions to the Match Madness campaign support the Quad Prep Annual Fund. This fund supports outstanding 2e education for our students by helping to fund staff salaries, professional development for teachers and clinicians, and gives students access to Quad's unique personalized learning model. The Board of Directors is asking for 100% family and staff participation. Why is it important to participate?
In addition to raising critical funds, it is important for everyone to participate so that we can show outside funders (corporations, foundations, private donors) that the whole Quad Prep community believes in the mission of the school and supports our students. When we can say that 100% of families and staff donate to the school, it makes a powerful statement to the rest of the world. A gift of any size helps with this critical participation.
Why does it cost so much to run Quad Prep?
At Quad Prep, we deeply value small class sizes, personalized learning, and integration of rigorous academics and social-emotional learning. This takes an enormous team of teachers and clinicians (counselors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists). In short, it takes a LOT of teachers and clinicians to provide a Quad Prep education. 71% of Quad Prep’s budget goes toward staff salaries, 18% of the budget supports facilities, and 11% supports program costs.
