Our Quad Prep team is full of expert educators and clinicians who share a passion for learning and a belief in our students’ unique gifts and voices. Comprised of seasoned professionals in education and clinical services, our faculty and staff have studied at some of the most prestigious programs in the country, including NYU’s School of Medicine, Columbia University’s Teachers College, Yale University, and MIT. They hold medical degrees, doctoral degrees, and masters degrees in Gifted Education, Special Education, Clinical Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, and other related services. They bring with them robust and diverse expertise reflecting our strong commitment to integrating academic and psychosocial learning. Together, they collaborate closely so that all our students can learn and thrive.
Kimberly Busi, MD
Founder and Head of School
Kim Busi is the Founder and School Head of The Quad Preparatory School, a psychiatrist and former Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine. She left her faculty appointment in 2009 to found The Quad Manhattan, from which the school evolved. In 2013, Dr. Busi led the formation of The Quad Preparatory School as a separate K-12 not-for-profit organization and has overseen its growth from 3-112 students. Dr. Busi received her medical degree from the Brown University School of Medicine in 1997. After completing a year’s training in pediatrics at the New York Hospital-Weill Medical Center, Dr. Busi finished her residency training in psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine in 2001. At NYU, Dr. Busi designed curriculum, taught, and supervised residents. She served on the curriculum committee for the Department of Psychiatry, and as the Director of Education for the NYU/Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture, a not-for-profit multidisciplinary treatment center within the Bellevue Hospital Center. She is an endlessly fascinated fiction reader and most enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. She is the lucky mother of two teenage boys.
Anna Christodoulou, PhD
Director of Admissions and Outreach
Dr. Anna Christodoulou completed her doctoral studies in Professional Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of London where her thesis focused on how to support children’s social and emotional skills at school. She has worked for years in several school settings in Greece, England and the US, serving a diverse population of children as a school psychologist. As Dr. Christodoulou became increasingly fascinated by high functioning children with social and emotional difficulties, she decided to devote her career in advocating for 2e children at The Quad Prep. She is Greek by background, enjoys anything associated with the sea and sun, and is a proud mother of two girls.
Assistant Head of School
Francisco brings more than a decade of experience in education to his role as the Assistant Head of School. He joined The Quad Prep during its pilot year and was the Quad’s founding special education teacher. Francisco holds a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in special education from George Mason University. During his graduate work, he obtained a certification in behavior modification from GMU. Francisco also studied for two years at The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Washington, D.C.
Rebecca Hankin Benghiat, JD
Chief Operating and Advancement Officer
Rebecca Benghiat has spent over 20 years in nonprofit executive leadership positions, with a focus on nonprofit organizational growth and transition. Most recently, Rebecca was Chief Operating Officer at citiesRISE, a multi-million-dollar international youth mental health organization, where she supported citiesRISE's rapid scaling by fostering collaboration between multiple programmatic and administrative departments; implementing procedures and processes that strengthened internal capacity; and creating an environment that encouraged accountability, critical thinking, communication, and effective data driven project management and program evaluation. Rebecca has also spearheaded the launch of several multi-million-dollar philanthropic organizations, including the Child Mind Institute, the Seleni Institute, and the New Space for Women’s Health, from inception and launch to expansion and acquisition. Her responsibilities have included fundraising, finance, human resources, information technology, security, facilities, and operations. A graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, she is certified in alternative dispute resolution and has mediated a wide variety of claims in New York County civil and small claims courts. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy, with a focus on organizational analysis, from The University of Chicago. Rebecca lives in Brooklyn with her husband and teenage daughter.
Emily Vizza, MS, CCC-SLP
Director of Clinical Affairs
Emily received her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. She holds certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and New York State licensure in speech-language pathology, and obtained New York State Teacher Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Emily has trained with members of the Social Thinking® Training and Speakers Collaborative, who also provide ongoing coaching and consultative services to The Quad Prep team. Emily joined The Quad Prep in the fall of 2014 at the beginning of the school's first full year and has since been involved in the development of the integrated social-emotional curriculum, supervision of Quad Prep participants in the Certificate in Meeting the Needs of Twice-Exceptional Children program, and serves on the admissions and accreditation committees. Emily is also an Adjunct Clinical Supervisor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Hunter College.
